Vintage Art Deco 18k White Gold European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring, Approximately .40 Carats, Size 7

This Art Deco 18k Gold Diamond Engagement Ring circa the 1920's is magnificent! The ring has a raised filigree top that surrounds a round sparkling Old European cut natural diamond in a white gold setting. The setting is made by Belais, and the Art Deco filigree design is light and airy. The diamond weighs approximately .40 carats, I-J color, S1 clarity. This ring is in nice vintage condition and is ready to be worn and enjoyed. The diamond sparkles and this ring is a true beauty. This Art Deco ring features a fantastic diamond in an equally fantastic setting. It is very lovely! This would make a wonderful engagement ring or could be worn as a right hand ring!

Belais Manufacturing Co. was founded by David Belais in 1863. The company was in business until 1933 and is known for being one of the first manufacturers of white gold jewelry in the United States. The advertising campaign for the white gold manufactured by Belais was so successful that at one time the term Belais became synonymous with white gold. Belais white gold jewelry is beautiful and prized by many today. An aside about David Belais is that he was the founder in 1904 of the Humane Society of New York. He served without pay as its President until his death. He was instrumental in establishing the first free animal clinic at the Humane Society headquarters in 1929. Very impressive!
