This 1980s Vintage Opal Engagement Ring features a round natural opal with primarily green flashes of color and round and baguette cut diamonds on either side. The opal measures approximately 5.9 mm. Accenting the opal on either side are two full cut diamonds weighing approximately .02 carats each and six tapered baguette diamonds weighing approximately .02 carats each. One of the tapered baguettes exhibits a chip on the edge but this is not noticeable when the ring is worn. There is approximately 1/3 carat of diamonds in total. The setting is marked 14k and SB (a maker's mark). The opal stone and beautiful setting of this engagement ring make it sure to become a favorite.
Opals have rich meaning in history. Opals have been said to foster love, passion, loyalty, faithfulness, emotional expressiveness, warmth and spontaneity. In the Victorian Era it was believed that each stone had it's own mythical properties and symbolism. Opals were thought to symbolize hope and love.

MARKINGS/HALLMARK - 14k SB (a maker's mark)
CONDITION - Good vintage condition, ready to wear (Note: One of the tapered baguettes exhibits a chip on the edge but this is not noticeable when the ring is worn.)
