Vintage 14k Yellow Gold Marquise Diamond Engagement Ring - .40 CTS - Size 7

This Vintage 14k Yellow Gold Diamond Engagement Ring has modern style! The circa 1980s ring showcases a marquise cut natural diamond with four full cut round natural diamonds to either side in a geometric open style setting. The center diamond is set in white gold and weighs approximately .30 carats, H color and SI1 clarity. The round diamonds weigh approximately .01 to .015 carats each. In total there is approximately .40 carats of diamonds. The ring is marked 14k on the inside and tests for 14k gold (not plated or filled). A beautiful sparkling diamond ring!

The Marquise cut is also known as the Navette cut. The marquise cut is credited to King Louis XV of France, who commissioned his court jeweler to create a new diamond cut that would reflect the beautiful shape of the mouth of his mistress the Marchioness Madame de Pompadour.

Top of Ring measures approximately 10.5 mm north to south (point to point).
